Whether it's serving in our youth ministry, volunteering with our outreach programs, or joining our worship team, there are many opportunities to get involved and make an impact. We believe that serving others is a key part of living out our faith, and we invite you to join us in these important ministries.

Children

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made."
                                                                            (Psalm 139; 13-14)

OUR PURPOSE:
Woodlawn Community Church Children's Ministries exists to be an ambassador of Jesus Christ to the children and families in the community we serve. All of our efforts are intended to glorify God by reaching those within our influence with the Gospel message embodied in the Great Commission.

OUR MISSION:
We seek to fulfill the Great Commission by equipping parents and volunteers to meet children wherever they are in their spiritual journey, and leading them in their next step of faith, understanding and commitment.

OUR VISION:
Our vision at WCC is to make an impact in children's lives by creating the most informative, innovative and imaginative children's ministry, bringing the love of Christ to this generation. We will make an impact in children's lives and fulfill the purpose of our vision by:

Introducing children to the Gospel
Ministering to their needs
Praying for them, that they will
Accept Christ as their Savior
Connecting them with other Christians
Training them for a life-long relationship with Christ

  • Nursery
Our nursery ministry consists of newborn to toddling age (approximately 15 months). Nursery care is offered during Sunday Morning Worship and Wednesday Evening Small Groups. The goal for our Nursery Ministry is to provide a safe and loving atmosphere for babies so that parents will feel secure in leaving their child while they attend worship. It is a pleasant place where fussy children are held and soothed and adults speak in gentle and loving tones.
  • Toddlers
For children 15 months to 4 years old. Toddler care is offered during the Sunday Morning Worship and during Wednesday evening Small Groups. We want to partner with parents to introduce little ones to their first ideas of Jesus. Together with parents we can lay the foundation of trust and Christian love.
  • Children's Church - J.A.M. (Jesus and Me)
J.A.M. is our 11 a.m. Sunday morning worship for K - 5th graders, and it's one of a kind! Lively singing, interactive multimedia, sound biblical teaching, and relational small groups are part of an exciting, age-appropriate environment that children love! The children also enjoy time together Sunday and Wednesday mornings.
  • Sunday School
We offer Sunday School classes for 3 years through 5th grade every Sunday Morning in the 9:30 hour. Each class uses a creative Bible based curriculum and is taught by a loving and trained teacher with a heart for the age they teach. Pastor Vicki Patton email: pastorvicki@bellsouth.net

Men's Ministry

To encourage and equip Godly men into ACTION, by holding monthly meetings that include fellowship, praise, time of challenge, and a time of sharing.

OUR PURPOSE:

To help men build a foundation in CHRIST through the word of GOD, to develop vital relationships with other men who will encourage them and support them in their spiritual walk, and to become godly influences in their home, church, work and at all times.

OUR CORE VALUES:

  • Christ centered ministry

  • Development of authentic Christian manhood

  • Build relationships and mentoring opportunities

  • Ministry balance of personal spiritual growth and evangelistic outreach

Tuesday mornings, 6 A.M. men meet at Becky's Country Cafe for good food and great conversation! Led by David Allen.

Men of the church meet each Saturday morning at 7:30 for fellowship and prayer (and good food!). Occasionally, after breakfast, the men participate in a service project, either at the church or in the community.

Military

Bless the Lord, who is my rock, he gives me strength for war, and skill for battle.  He is my loving ally and my fortress, my tower of safety, my deliverer.  He stands before me as a shield, and I take refuge in Him.  He subdues the nations under me.
Psalm 144:1-2

PURPOSE:

In today's world of long deployments, frequent training exercises, and a transient lifestyle, military families need a ministry more than ever that understands what they are going through and can give them the support they need and deserve.  WCC is committed to support our soldiers and their families as they serve our country and sacrifice for our freedoms.

The Military Ministry at Woodlawn Community Church of the Nazarene serves our congregation and the military community through endeavors that support families on the home front and soldiers serving abroad.
